Central bank could mull raising neutral key rate range in July

KRASNODAR, May 31 (PRIME) -- The central bank could consider raising the range of the neutral key rate from the current 5–6% in July, Deputy Chairman Alexei Zabotkin said on Wednesday.

"The board of directors usually adjusts the approach to the neutral key rate after the July meeting on the key rate,” he said.

“There are more arguments today in favor of slightly raising the estimate than a year ago."

He added that the neutral key rate assessment in real terms amounts to 1–2% and in nominal terms to 5–6% taking into account a 4% inflation target.
